Take a close look on craftmanship

When we started working on our first collection of coats, we knew we had to produce and source in Western Europe. The knowledge, quality and “localness” of the manufacturer is vital. Since we visit the atelier on a regular basis and want to be involved in every step of production. Looking from an environmental perspective we think producing and supplying locally is the right way to look at the future.

The fittings tested on fitting models to make sure it complies with what our customers expect from us.

Before the Italian atelier wanted to start producing, we had to visit “Betty” the owner of the atelier in Milan at the Milano Unica fabric fair. She looked at the designs, interrogated me on the business I was expecting to do. Apparently, this was sort of an inauguration with Betty. The lady is very special as well as all the people working in her business. We slowly started creating the models for the coats, after a lot of sampling, testing out the garment dying process and different fittings we were sure about the fitting, garment dye treatment and final styles. We took a leap of faith in producing our first collection of coats and accessories completely at risk with no guaranteed customers yet or external funding. Very exciting it is to now have the complete collection in store and on stock.

The knowledge and dedication of Betty and her team has taken us to this high standard collection. We are very thankful to the team and the effort made, this relationship is hopefully a long term one which will result in an evolving collection of iconic coats, jackets and accessories.
